I'm an Accredited Editor and technical writer, living in a regional area of Australia on a small property with a few sheep and chickens and a big vegie garden.
I have worked in many environments, from factories and warehouses to small businesses, universities, libraries and not-for profit organisations, and in roles including baker, office manager, librarian, project manager, editor, supervisor, trainer and business analyst.
I worked in the areas of communication, content management, systems development and logistics over a period of ten years in the Australian Public Service, and several years in other Federal government departments.
I specialise in plain English and helping authors communicate clearly with their readers - even when editing for the public service!
I'm an ex-librarian and a volunteer assisting children in Year 1 and 2 with their reading, and am passionate about children's literature. I offer copyediting for children's books (both fiction and non fiction) and books about family and parenting . I have edited and published "All the Safe Places: an Australian child's war", a book of anecdotes about growing up during World War II.
As a small landholder and sheep farmer, and a member of Landcare, I also offer editing services for books about farming, gardening and regenerative agriculture.
